Power Yoga is a fitness-based Vinyasa practice. It has many qualities and benefits, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction.
Available in the hot yoga studio.
Power Yoga is a vigorous and physically challenging Vinyasa style yoga practice. Incorporating the athleticism of Ashtanga Yoga and the flow of Vinyasa, this style is an energetic class where one pose flows in to the next in a strong sequence using the breath. This type of yoga class is currently only available at the Ironstone Wellbeing Centre in Kettering as a hot yoga class.
During a power yoga practice your whole body builds internal heat, by testing strength, flexibility and balance. Power Yoga is a fast pace class, leaving you feeling like you have just completed an aerobic workout. This type of yoga is becoming increasingly popular around the world.
The emphasis of this class is strength and flexibility. A challenging class, potentially for the more experienced yogi but do not let this put you off from rising to the challenges that face you. Variations are given to allow you to adapt the session to suit you.
No two classes are ever the same. We have expert teachers who can adapt and guide you throughout so you will leave feeling suitably challenged and energised. Regular practice in one of our yoga studios in Kettering, will leave you reaping the benefits. You will certainly leave with a sweat on!
Improves Flexibility - The heat allows you to stretch a little further and achieve a greater range of motion. Stretching after you warm up your muscles is safer than stretching cold muscles. Power yoga will help lengthen the muscles through an intense stretch.
Burns More Calories - Turning up the heat can help you burn even more calories. The aerobic element of the class also assists in this and supports weight loss.
Strengthens Your Body - The poses in power yoga can improve your balance significantly, as well as help with leg strength and muscle control. Power yoga is a full body workout, which really helps to strengthen the muscle groups. Prepare to be challenged.
Focuses Your Mind- Yoga encourages a mindful state, helping you to reduce stress and anxiety levels. A challenging class is a great mental boost too.
Increased Stamina – Regular practice of power yoga will show signs of increased stamina. The aerobic aspect will increase the heart rate and challenge you throughout.
