Yoga Foundations is exactly what is says in the name. In this class we cover the foundations of yoga and understand technique. With a different focus each week no class will ever be the same. If we start with the foundations or even go back to basics our practice will only develop. 

Available in normal temperatures.

Introduction to Yoga Foundations

This class will explore the foundations of a physical yoga practice, with breathing, yoga postures and meditation / relaxation. 

We will explore the key poses you’ll find in any flow or hatha class and break them down, step by step, with variations, modifications and progressions to suit your body. 

This class is great for beginners, or those at the start of their yoga journey, but it’s also great for those who’d like to spend more time learning about the foundational yoga postures and breathing techniques.

Benefits of Yoga Foundations

Understanding Technique – This session focuses on breaking down technique. It ensures that you understand and maintain good form throughout your yoga practice. This class is ideal for beginners embarking on their yoga journey who would love to learn the foundations of yoga, but is also perfect for the more experienced yogi who needs to reinforce good form and eradicate bad habits to progress their practice further. 

Focuses Your Mind – Yoga encourages a mindful state, helping you to feel relaxed and calm reducing stress levels.

Connecting With The Breath – The breath is a powerful tool when it comes to our well-being. If we can learn to connect with the breath, energy also known as the prana, will begin to flow more freely. By allowing our energy to flow, this will give us the skills and tools to push through any emotional and physical blockages. Therefore, allowing us to free both body and mind and relax.

What to bring?

For now, due to Covid we will not be providing mats, straps and blocks. You will therefore be required to bring your own.

Water – Hydration before, during and after yoga is key.

Currently due to Covid our changing facilities are unavailable, only toilets will be available.

We have onsite parking.

Pricing

A drop in class for Yoga Foundations in Kettering at the Ironstone Wellbeing Centre is £13 a session. The price can be greatly reduced by purchasing a membership or class pack.
