Barre is a hybrid workout which fuses together elements of Ballet, Pilates, Yoga and Strength training. This class is a whole body workout which will challenge you but leave you feeling energised. You do not need to have any ballet experience.

Introduction to Barre

In the space of one hour we work every major muscle in the body to upbeat energising music. Barre takes the best bits of Ballet, Pilates and Yoga and mashes them all together to give us an energising workout.

You do not need to have any ballet experience. A large part of the class will take place at the barre but the barre is just there really to help us with balance as lot of the class takes place on one foot.  

Barre will reshape and sculpt your body. This class will comprise of hand weights, mat work and the barre to tone and shape your body. Come and give Barre in Kettering a try for yourself at the Ironstone Wellbeing Centre! 

Benefits of Barre

Improves Posture – A large focus in this class is strengthening the core, chest and shoulders. This is effectively to help us stop slouching. Leaving us standing taller and proud.

Stronger Glutes – Of course we all want to have a toned and lifted booty, but stronger glutes are far more than that. Strong glutes mean a strong and stable pelvis, therefore alleviating pressure on the back, hips and knees.

Stronger Core – Barre focuses heavily on balance. In order to balance with good posture and alignment we need to engage our core to do so. This class will certainly help tone our tummies!

Increased Body Strength – Barre is a whole-body workout which works every major muscle in the body during the one-hour session. Regular practice will certainly challenge and strengthen your body.


A drop-in class for barre in Kettering at the Ironstone Wellbeing Centre  is £12 a session. The price can be greatly reduced by purchasing a membership or class pack. What to bring?

We will provide hand weights, resistance bands and Pilates balls. Many clients bring their own mat, but we do have mats available to borrow if required. You may wish to bring a bottle of water.
