Hatha Yoga is the most common form of yoga in the western world. Hatha is derived from Sanskrit the sun (ha) and the moon (tha) – the yoga of balance. A Hatha practice is designed to align both body and mind to calm and relax an individual. The aim is to unite opposites, for instance left and right.
Hatha Yoga is considered to be a gentle form of yoga, which incorporates the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises). Throughout the class you will be reminded to focus on your breath.
This type of yoga is ideal for beginners due to its relaxed and gentle pace, although it can still be challenging. The term Hatha is very broad, so we recommend you try out all the instructors we offer to find who and what works best for you.
