Introduction to Wall Yoga

Wall Yoga is an innovative form of yoga practice where we use the wall as a prop to aid and assist. The wall is used as a tool to help with alignment ensuring good form and posture throughout.

The wall helps us in many ways, whether that be simply assisting in opening up the body or by providing support and stability in a pose.  There are many ways where the wall can assist us in a yoga practice. The wall allows us to modify and adjust, deepen and explore new poses with the help of a simple prop, which is available to all.

These sessions aim to be strong with some element of challenge but are accessible and enjoyable for all. No class is ever the same

We have expert teachers who can adapt and guide you throughout so you will leave feeling relaxed, recharged, and energised. Regular practice in one of our yoga studios in Kettering, will leave you reaping the benefits. Try Wall Yoga in Kettering at the Ironstone Wellbeing Centre for yourself! 

Benefits of Wall Yoga

Improved Flexibility and Range – A Wall Yoga class works the whole body due to the variety of movements incorporated throughout a class. You will notice an improvement in your range of motion if you stick to regular practice.

Strengthens Your Body – The poses in Wall yoga will work all parts of the body and with regular practice increased functional strength will develop.

Connecting with the breath – The breath is a powerful tool when it comes to our well-being. If we can learn to connect with the breath, energy also known as the prana, will begin to flow more freely. By allowing our energy to flow, this will give us the skills and tools to push through any emotional and physical blockages. Therefore, allowing us to free both body and mind and relax.

Focuses Your Mind – Yoga encourages a mindful state, helping you to feel relaxed and calm reducing stress levels.

Confidence – The use of the wall as a prop will give you the confidence and security needed to challenge yourself. The wall is an aid and will support you in poses and help you to relax and enjoy yourself!  

What to bring?

For now, due to Covid we will not be providing mats, straps and blocks. You will therefore be required to bring your own. We will provide the chair as we are able to wipe these down after the class.

Water – Hydration before, during and after yoga is key.

Currently due to Covid our changing facilities are unavailable, only toilets will be available.

We have onsite parking.

Pricing

A drop in class for Wall yoga in Kettering at the Ironstone Wellbeing Centre is £15 a session. The price can be greatly reduced by purchasing a membership or class pack.
